ANTELOPE, California — Cameron Hayley, driver of the No. 24 NAPA Gold Filters Toyota Camry for Bill McAnally Racing, will be racing to win as the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West kicks off the 2012 season at Phoenix International Raceway on March 3rd.
“I think going into the 2012 season in the K&N Pro West Series will be a huge experience for me and allow me to showcase what I love to do, race,” said Hayley. “Having time off in the winter really allowed me to sit down and reflect on some of last year’s failures and also successes. Last year was a huge learning year for me due to the change between three different series but also the style and type of racing needed to achieve success. I learned what works and also what does not work which will help me to make decisions regarding track position and when and where not to make a move on the track.”
“Watching the Budweiser Shootout and seeing how exciting that first race of the year was, made me think of this year and what it holds in store. It’s a new team and new world of racing for me this year and I am fully ready to take it on and contend for that top position at the end of the year. I am very excited and look forward to a great year of racing.”
The 2012 NASCAR K&N Pro Series fifteen race season will include two visits to the one-mile oval. Both races will be a part of PIR’s NASCAR Sprint Cup weekend.
“I could not be more excited to kick of the start of the 2012 season in Phoenix,” continues Hayley. “Last year at Phoenix marked a new point in my racing career as it was my first time on a one mile oval. It also marked a new emotional high to put it lightly. I ranged from feeling like the top of the world and just as quickly feeling like I dropped to the bottom. It was a huge learning experience for me and made me think of what I could've done better.”
“Taking that knowledge into the new season, I look for better results and to hopefully be there at the end of the race. Like I said before, this is a new year and a lot has changed for the better. I think I speak for the entire No. 24 NAPA Gold Filters Toyota team in saying that we will be a threat for that win and we have a fighting chance to be there at the end. It should be a very exciting weekend and I look forward to kicking off the season.”
The NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race, Talking Stick Resort “50” will be on Saturday, March 3rd with Hayley and the No. 24 NAPA Gold Filters Toyota team taking the green at 5:30 PM MST. For more information on the event, please visit www.phoenixinternationalraceway.com.
