MOBILE, Alabama — - Roulo Bros. Racing announced today that Hunting Beach, California native Brandon Davis will drive the No. 99 Roulo Bros. Racing Ford Fusion for a minimum of 10 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards races beginning with Saturday’s Mobile ARCA 200 at Mobile (Ala.) International Speedway.
The 26-year old Davis looks to strengthen an already impressive resume which includes championships in the World Challenge GT Series and most recently the 2011 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series (NWAAS) on the West coast at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale (Calif.). On the strength of 11 wins in the NWAAS, Davis rightfully earned a shot in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West at Infineon (Calif.) Speedway. He also competed in the ARCA season-opener at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway last month for another team posting a respectable top-20 finish.
“We’re excited to add Brandon (Davis) to our roster,” said car owner Gary Roulo. “Brandon has proven himself as a driver no matter what series he competes in and we feel that he will be a welcomed addition to Roulo Bros. Racing family. We expect great things from him and we’re looking forward to see the No. 99 back in action in the ARCA Racing Series.”
In addition to Mobile, Davis is set to compete at Salem (Ind.) Speedway, Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway, both Pocono (Pa.) Raceways, Michigan International Speedway, New Jersey Motorsports Park, Iowa Speedway, Chicagoland Speedway and Kansas Speedway. Additional races for Davis in the No. 99 entry are possible.
“I’m pumped about this opportunity with Roulo Bros. Racing,” said Davis. “They are undoubtedly one of the strongest teams on the circuit with a very impressive track record. I’m honored to have the opportunity to drive the No. 99 Ford Fusion and hope we can immediately start reeling in some results that will put us on the map.
For this weekend at Mobile, it’s all about seeing the checkered flag. Everyone says that they would like to go out there and have a shot at winning, but these ARCA cars are still incredibly new to me, so I just want to qualify near the front, keep ourselves in contention and complete all 200 laps. If we do that, it will be a good day.”
Kelly Kovski is on-board as the team’s crew chief this weekend at MIS. Davis will be a teammate to Roulo Bros. Racing’s No. 17 Reliance Tool Ford Fusion driven by Roush Fenway Racing development driver Chris Buescher.
Roulo Bros. Racing has fielded entries in the ARCA Racing Series for over 25 years of the series’ 60 years of competition. The team has 27 career victories with seven different drivers including last year’s second-place point’s finish, Hoosier Speedway Challenge winner and Rookie of the Year honors for Buescher.
The Mobile ARCA 200 (200 laps / 100 miles) is the second of 20 events on the 2012 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule. The first ARCA race held at MIS is a two-day show. Practice begins Friday, March 9 with a three and a half hour practice session planned from 1:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Menards pole qualifying presented by Ansell is set for later in the day at 7:00 p.m. An on-track autograph session has been etched in on race day, Saturday, March 10 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. The event will take the green flag shortly after 2:00 p.m. The race will not be televised on SPEED but additional race coverage including live timing and scoring will be available through the ARCA Racing Network (ARN) online at arcaracing.com.
