MADERA, California — Due to a heavy storm system moving through California this weekend the Spring Fling season opener has been pushed back by one week at the Madera Speedway. March 24th will be the season opener on the brand new race track at the Madera Speedway, and the entire show that was going to happen on the 17th, will now happen on the 24th.
So make plans to come out to the Madera Speedway on March 24th and see the Coors Light Open Late Models race in a 100 lap main event, the West Coast Enduro drivers in a 250 lap main event, and the Hobby Stock & 4-Banger open will compete in 50 lap mains, that is 450 laps of green flag racing action! Adult tickets are only $15, Senior’s and Military are $13, Youth (6-10) are $10, and kids five and under are free!
The Smokey Hanoian Classic was scheduled for March 24th, it has been moved to April 7th and it will kick off the local racing action featuring the LunkerDaddy Late Models, Sport Modifieds, Hobby Stocks, MST’s, Toyota Sedans and the crazy 4-Bangers.
“It is always in our nature to try as hard as we can to get our races in, but with fuel costs being as high as they are we had to make the call early to move this race to save our fans and racers money as the chance is too high of not completing this race. We are so excited about the new track and all the continuing improvements at the facility, I feel like a five year child on Christmas Eve, but it does feel like someone moved Christmas back by one week right now” Kenny Shepherd.
The staff worked on the race track all week dragging tires and misting VHT on the top groove, the same work will be repeated again next week so expect a great track right out of the gate!
