BAKERSFIELD, California — Austin Reed, an 18-year old high school student who is enjoying his senior year before college in the fall, nabbed two top five finishes in the the USLCI Spring Sizzler at The Bullring at LVMS this past weekend.

Reed piloted the #14 K&N Filters/Approved Memory sedan that he will also use later this summer in the Legends Summer Series at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The car was transported to Las Vegas by the Weatherman Motorsports team from their base in Texas.
"We kind of played with the setup all weekend but the car was fun to drive," Reed offered. "I would like to thank Michael Harper and Daryn Weatherman for all of their continued support and making this weekend successful."
In two days of racing action, Reed scored a third place finish on Saturday and backed that up with a fourth place run on Sunday afternoon. "The Bullring is a perfect race track for these cars," Reed said. "It is fast and there is plenty of room to pass. Plus these cars are just so much fun to drive."
Reed plans an ambitious racing schedule this season that will see him behind the wheel of not only his Legend car but also a Pro Late Model back east, a debut in the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour, and possible tests in a K&N Pro Series car later this summer.
Next up for Austin Reed will be an appearance at the Monster Jam World Finals this weekend back in Las Vegas at Sam Boyd Stadium where he will sign autographs and participate in team activities for The Outlaw monster truck team owned by Michael Harper.
