BANKS, Oregon — The Sunset Speedway Park successfully completed their practice date on Saturday April 28th. The weekend was supposed to be the season opening race but the weather cancelled Friday the 27th practice date and the 28th was changed from an actual race to a practice. Next Saturday May 5th hopes to be the first race of the season for the Banks facility which will host the divisions of the Pure Stocks, Street Stocks, 4-Bees, and the Northwest Wingless Tour.
Front Gates open up at 3:30 with racing scheduled to start at 6:00 on Saturday night. Saturday’s events will be non-point affairs for all division except for the Northwest Wingless Tour. Admission is the following prices: Adults are $14, Seniors $10, Children (6-12) $5, Children (5 and Under) FREE, and Family Pack (2 Adults and 2 Children) $30.
The Sunset Speedway Park is located just west of the Portland metro area in Banks on the Sunset Highway. The venue is located in a gorgeous small town setting with rolling hills in the background and hosts weekly competition with Northwest Extreme Sprint Car Series, Northwest Wingless Tour, USRA Modifieds, Street Stocks, 4-Bees, Pure Stocks, Womens, and Tracers classes.
