LEBANON, Oregon — Bad weather continues to plague the Willamette Speedway as all events scheduled for Friday May 4th and Saturday May 5th have been cancelled due to weather. Plans for next week’s events are to hold a practice on Friday May 11th in the later afternoon and host the first race of the season on Saturday May 12th for Fan Appreciation Night. Updates for changes, cancellations, and any other information of the upcoming events will be posted on the track’s official website at www.trophymotorsports.com.
The Friday May 11th practice is scheduled to begin at 4 PM and last until Dusk. Any spectators wishing to watch from the grandstands get into the facility for free while pit passes will be sold for $15 and car and driver entry will be $25.
Saturday night May 12th is scheduled to be the first race of the season with Fan Appreciation Night which will feature DirtCar Late Models, USRA Modifieds, Sportsman, Classic Sportsman, and Mini Trucks. Regular admission to the event is the following prices: Adults $14.00, Seniors (62 and Over) $12.00, Children (12 and Under) $6.00, and Pit Passes $25.00. The pit gate opens at noon while general admission gates open at 2:00. Qualifying is scheduled for 3:00 while Racing should be getting started around 6:00.
The Willamette Speedway has operated since the 1960’s and has been regarded as the “Late Model Capitol of the Northwest” for many years and is anxious to host fans with the vast upgrades and improvements done over the 2011-12 winter. The venue will host the World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series and the American Sprint Car Series-National Tour along with weekly action comprising of DirtCar Late Models, USRA Modifieds, Sportsman, Classics, and Mini Trucks.
