BAKERSFIELD, California — Drivers of the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series currently hold four of the top ten positions in the national SUNOCO Driven Challenge point standings. After two fast times, and a win so far in 2012, the SRL’s Derek Thorn is the leader of the national point standings with 75 points, Brian Campbell of the ARCA/CRA Super Series is a close second with 73.33 points. Other SRL drivers in the top ten include; Jason Gilbert and Jim Pettit II tied for fifth, and Jacob Gomes in tenth.
Joe Gibbs Racing and Sunoco have teamed up to launch the Sunoco Driven Challenge - a chance for drivers to earn a test with Joe Gibbs Racing following the 2012 season.
To be eligible for the 2012 Sunoco Driven Challenge, drivers must be registered competitors in one of the following qualifying series: PASS North, PASS South, ARCA/CRA Super Series, ASA Midwest Tour, or the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series.
