LAS VEGAS, Nevada — The Bullring will host the second annual Star Nursery 200 for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West on Saturday evening at 7 p.m.
Saturday’s race program also will include the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series (NASCAR Super Late Models, NASCAR Super Stocks and NASCAR Bombers), USLCI American
Band Legends Cars and USLCI Silver Star Plumbing Bandoleros. Spectator gates will open at 4 p.m.
Series points leader and local high school student Dylan Kwasniewski is among the favorites to win this year’s Star Nursery 200. He will turn 17 Thursday and is the only driver to finish in the
top five in each of the first six races this year.
“He’s got a year under his belt in these cars and he’s our competition now,” said defending series champion and 2011 Las Vegas race winner Greg Pursley, who also is Kwasniewski’s
teammate at Gene Price Racing. “I’m sure we’ll be racing him for the win again.”
Kwasniewski finished second to Pursley in the 2011 edition of the Star Nursery 200.
“He’s progressing a lot as a driver and we’re really proud of him” Pursley added. “I think he’s matured a lot since last year. Since the beginning of the year, he’s been on fire. He’s doing a great
job. It’s good to see him doing that.”
Kwasniewski scored a victory earlier this month at Stockton (Calif.) 99 Speedway and was credited with a win as the top-finishing West driver in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East-West
combination race at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa two weeks ago.
He finished fifth in the 2011 K&N Pro Series West points chase and earned the NASCAR Sunoco Rookie of the Year title.
Spectator gates will open one hour earlier (4 p.m.) on Saturday. Fans may save money by purchasing tickets in advance by calling LVMS at (702) 644-4444 or online at www.LVMS.com. The
