LEBANON, Oregon — The management staff at the Willamette Speedway regrets to inform fans that the Friday June 15th season opener for the Kart program has been cancelled. Not all of the materials were on hand to make the track race ready.

“We know everyone is anxious to race on the new Kart track and we apologize for the delay,” said Chris Nofziger, “but we hadn’t received all of the walling that will be around the track, it will be state of the art once it’s done.”

A wall will be placed around the racetrack to prevent cars from losing complete control if they go off of the top. Safety is the number one priority when it comes to racing at the Willamette Speedway and the delay is to ensure that the racetrack is completely safe.

The Willamette Speedway is proud to provide an outlet for their future stars in the Kage Kart program. For race fans looking to see who the upcoming talent in the Northwest is be sure and make a trip to the Willamette Speedway on one of their scheduled events.
