MADERA, California — On a soapy water-drenched track, it was Loren Chitwood that was able to overcome those obstacles as he won the Enduro race on Saturday, June 16, 2012 on Boots and Bikini Night at the Madera Speedway.
Chitwood took the lead past Ron Willis on Lap 43 and was able to maneuver around spinning cars along with a few flying barrels to win the 200-lap main. Robert Reagan came in second while Gene Etherdoge finished third in the crazy 18-car race.
Before the track was watered down and doused with soap, Aaron Mullins posted his first win of the season in the 40-lap LunkerDaddy Late Models race.
Two laps into the race, Mullins passed Emma Tucker and led from that point on while Ray Mayer won the battle with Howard Holden for second place.
Other winners on the night included Bud Tickel (Toyota Sedans), Richard Herzog (Hobby Stocks), Kevin Thompson (MST) and Tyler Johnson (4-Bangers).
The Madera Speedway will be off for two weeks before returning for a big show on Saturday, June 30, 2012 when it hosts the Fourth of July Celebration and Fireworks Stunt show featuring the Spears SRL Southwest Tour, Legends of the Pacific, LunkerDaddy Late Models, MST, Toyota Sedans, 4-Bangers, Hobby Stocks as it is double the points for all local classes.
