
LAS VEGAS, Nevada — The Bullring, Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s NASCAR-sanctioned 3/8-mile asphalt oval, has added yet another attraction to the spectacular Night of Fire on Tuesday, July 3.
"50-laps, $1,000-to-win"
A 50-lap, $1,000-to-win Late Model race has been added to pre-Independence Day holiday race card.
The basic Late Model rules are as follows:
• Open to any late model perimeter chassis with ABC-type body.
• Steering box and one-piece OEM-style lower control arm.
• Any 8-in. steel wheel.
• Hoosier 970 tire only.
• Any steel, non-adjustable shock absorber.
• Holley 4412-500 cfm gauge legal two barrel carburetor only.
• Maximum tread width: 67.5 in. center to center.
• Weights:
GM 604 type engine: 2,900 lbs. (57% left-side weight maximum).
Vegas Vortec head engine: 2,950 lbs. (57% left-side weight maximum).
Leaf spring chassis: add 1% to left side.
Rack-and-pinion steering: add 50 lbs.
Straight-rail chassis: deduct 2% left-side weight.
The annual Night of Fire will include fireworks, a 76-lap NASCAR Super Late Model feature, the only 2012 Las Vegas appearance by legendary Monster Truck BIGFOOT, a Jet Car burn, waterless boat races, NASCAR Bombers, USAC Midgets, USLCI Legends Cars and USLCI Bandoleros.
The Bullring’s concession stand offers a family-friendly dollar menu, including $1 hot dogs and $1 Coca-Cola products.
Spectator gates open at 5 p.m., with racing at 7 p.m. and fireworks at 10:15 p.m.
Fans may save $5 on each adult admission by purchasing tickets in advance online or at the LVMS ticket office.
Spectator admission:
Adults (in advance): $15.
Adults (day-of-show): $20.
Senior citizens and active military personnel with ID: $15.
Kids (ages 6-14): $8.
Children 5 and under: free.
General-admission parking: free.
