ALGER, Washington — A busy weekend of racing at Skagit Speedway is ramped up a notch by the first ever visit to the track by NASCAR driver and SPEED TV commentator Kenny Schrader. Schrader will be driving the Federated Auto Parts Modified at Skagit Speedway during the Wild Wild West Modified Shootout Speedweek Finale Saturday night June 23rd.
"We are excited to have one of the most versatile drivers racing today in Kenny Schrader at Skagit Speedway"— Steve Beitler
Shrader told Speedway Promoter Steve Beitler he is excited to be racing at one of the great race tracks he hasn’t been to yet. Said Beitler, “we are excited to have one of the most versatile drivers racing today in Kenny Schrader at Skagit Speedway. Just a few days ago he was in a Sprint Cup car at Michigan Speedway at over 200 miles per hour and this Saturday he will be driving a Modified at our track. We have had a lot of big name drivers run up here in the last decade like Kasey Kahne, Tony Stewart and others and now to have Kenny Schrader is quite an honor.” Nearly 40 cars have been at most of the venues for the series which started last weekend at Southern Oregon Speedway in Medford with stops at Cottage Grove, Willamette, Sunset Speedway and elsewhere on the road to Alger.
In addition to the Championship Race for NW Modified Speedweek, ASA Member Track Skagit Speedway will be hosting the final night of the Outlaw Hornet Nationals and two divisions of Sprint Cars are also scheduled.
Grandstands open at 5:30 p.m. with racing after opening ceremonies at 7:00 p.m. Fans and racers are invited to follow us on Twitter and Facebook at /skagitspeedway .
