15 Year Old Hannah Newhouse Wins Third Main Event of the Season

TWIN FALLS, Idaho — History continues to be made at MVS as the youngest female driver ever to win a main event in the NASCAR Whelen All American Series won her third one of the season. Now with a points lead, Hannah Newhouse will shoulder the responsibility of trying to keep the lead and chase down the Idaho NASCAR Championship and Track Championship in the Commercial Tires Super Stock Division, making her the youngest driver ever to pull off the feat, oh and yes she's a girl. Early trouble left Kris McKean damaged and in the pits for repairs. After making it back to start in the rear of the field his effort to get back in contention during the race was gallant but a third place finish awaited him at the end. It was the third in points driver "The Legend" Casey Pehrson that fought hard on two late restarts with Newhouse making it an exciting door to door duel for several laps. But it was Newhouse whop would prevail. She is showing patience and skill beyond her fifteen years for certain as she races hard and is making the right decisions more often than not.

"A teary eyed (Casey) Tillman dedicated the race and his win to his cousin whom he had found out had passed away on his way to the race track earlier in the day."

The Quales Electronics Junior Stingers closed out the first half of the season Championship with Brendan Radabaugh coming off his fourth main event win the previous week. His second place finish was enough to seal the deal with Hailey Douglas finishing second just behind him in the championship hunt.Justice Dalton meanwhile took the lead and never looked back winning his second main event ever. The eleven year old (who will be in 6th grade next year) was happy to thank his sponsors and get hugs all around from family and friends.

Jeff Peck remains the points leader in the Magic Valley pipe Hornets with a great run going the opposite direction around the 1/4 mile tear drop track at the half way point in the race. After the caution and change of directions his car took off. Lane Walker who is second in points could only watch from second place as the checkered flag waived. Eddy Cole battled with Jason Quale to finish third.

The Snake River Legends put on a terrific show. Phylip Zubizareta broke the track record in qualifying then put on a show running second place on the rear bumper of Casey Tillman for much of the race. He could not find a way around, even after a couple late restarts. Sara Henry closed in to battle and was a close 5third placer. A teary eyed Tillman dedicated the race and his win to his cousin whom he had found out had passed away on his way to the race track earlier in the day.

The Car Store Thunder Dogs once again brought oohs, aaaahs and laughter from the crowd. The early main event (run with the cars driving in reverse, was easily won by the Stinking Lincoln. Revenge came around in the second main event as the ever popular "Tank" was dominating, even as the Stinking Lincoln used a secret weapon (stink juice that shot out of the back and onto the track making it slick!).
