Brandon Kraus debuts the new #42 Snap-On Tools Chevrolet at Rocky Mountain Raceway in West Valley Utah for the NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series race. Snap-On Tools title sponsor of the Utah Southwest Tour race, will also be the title sponsor for Sears Point. The new Perry built chassis and Riello motor will turn wheels in anger for the first time at Rocky Mountain Raceway in West Valley Utah.
For Kraus who runs a limited schedule, this will be his first drive on a short 3/8-mile track since he ran 1/4 midgets as a kid. The crew with Phil Perry's help have already tested set-ups for Sears Point and are testing at Altamont Raceway for the ovals.
Last year's primary sponsor Ettore is back for 1999. This is still a learning experience for us going fast and turning left! My main concern is the altitude, I do not worry so much as to how the car will behave as to how the sea level Bay area heavy air breathers will survive the thin air and high temperatures. Oxygen any one?
If you are in the area be sure and tune in your radios Friday and listen for Kraus. A local radio station is interviewing him. It is hoped the station and time will be known soon. Stay tuned!![]()
