DAYTONA BEACH, Florida — Shelby Stroebel’s winning streak at Meridian Speedway extended to twelve wins after winning the two feature events this past weekend. He extends his lead in the ASA Member Track National Championship standings.

"It is very early to predict who will be our 2012 National Champion. The competition will be tough. Drivers who are close to the point lead will do everything they can to put their name at the top of the standings."Dennis Huth

Stroebel’s winning streak goes back to the end of the 2011 season where he won the last four feature events. So far, this year he has won all eight of the ASA Modified feature events at the ASA Member Track in Meridian, ID. He has a current average of 2.4192.

Slone already has two feature wins this season and is in an early point battle with Matt Wallace at the Willard family owned facility. Wallace is trying to do what his sister Chrissy Wallace accomplished last season.

Kyle Borden leads the ASA Modified points at Shasta Speedway, an ASA Member Track in Anderson, CA. This is the first year for the new ASA Member Track to be a part of the National Championship. He has an average of 1.2548.

Lance Gatlin currently leads the Limited Late Model standings at Lonesome Pine Raceway, an ASA Member Track in Coeburn, VA. He has an average of 0.8359.

“It is very early to predict who will be our 2012 National Champion. We still have three more months of racing this season,” Dennis Huth, ASA President said. “The competition will be tough. Drivers who are close to the point lead will do everything they can to put their name at the top of the standings. The racing action at our ASA Member Tracks will be more exciting and fun to watch.”

Throughout the season, drivers competing in the premiere divisions at eligible ASA Member Tracks are in the running for the 2012 ASA Member Track National Championship. In order to have a chance for the national title, a driver must first win their 2012 track championship.

Speednetdirect.com, for the fifth year in a row, will tabulate the National Championship standings. Using a proprietary formula that creates an average based on wins, finishing positions, number of cars passed, car counts and events. The driver who wins their track championship and has the highest average over the other ASA Member Track champions will win the 2012 ASA Member Track National Championship.
