"Luis Martinez Jr. To Pilot Newest Driver Development Car in Special Event"
The team will debut a brand new Late Model Chassis that the team has successfully tested this past week and knows that The Bullring will provide the perfect opportunity to set performance benchmarks.
Last month the team and driver Luis Martinez Jr. dominated the action at The Bullring setting fast time and scoring the Super Late Model victory in the team's oldest chassis named McFly. "We have not settled on a name yet for the new chassis but by all indications it is going to be really stout," stated Rip Michels, Race Director for Position One Motorsports.
The team provides first-class race vehicles, equipment, crew, and hospitality for funded drivers looking to make the jump from karting and open-wheel racing into full-size stock cars. Based in the greater Los Angeles area of southern California, the team is well positioned in proximity to all the regional race tracks and transportation gateways.
"Luis Martinez. Sr. (owner of Position One Motorsports) has built a great organization and we are excited about the Driver Development Program," Michels said. "Whether you are interested in competition, testing a stock car, or creating a hospitality event for your organization, Position One Motorsports will deliver a first-class experience."
Position One Motorsports goals for 2012 will be to further develop their winning tradition and become the premier West Coast team for developing championship caliber drivers. The team currently has a fleet of three ultra-competitive Late Model cars and two equally competitive Super Late Model entries ready for competition. The team will compete at various west coast tracks in 2012 and their current schedule includes visits to The Bullring in Las Vegas, All American Speedway, Madera Speedway, Stockton 99 and Lake Havasu.
Position One Motorsports has corporate partnerships with King Taco, Lucas Oil, Eibach Springs, Ron's Rear Ends, and Jan's Towing. The team completes in Super Late Model/Late Model races throughout the Southwest region as well as providing a complete Driver Development Program for funded drivers looking to move up in their career.
