After giving fans a top-of-the-line show in the previous race, the local classes return for more action packed competitive driving Saturday, July 7, 2012 on Pacific Mobile Night featuring the LunkerDaddy Late Models, Hobby Stocks, Toyota Sedans, MST and Toyota Sedans.
One thing is for certain with these classes — nothing is guaranteed now.
After Frank Mazzei reeled off six straight main wins to start the season in the Hobby Stocks division, two new winners have surfaced in Richard Herzog and most recently, Nick Silva.
Mazzei will be looking to be take back the reigns in that class but will have plenty of competition with up-and-coming rookie driver Ryan Hart in the mix. Hart has been so close to victories this season with six runner-up spots including last week’s race in which he was passed by Silva with four laps to go.
In the Modified Stock Toyota division, it was the first time all season the Kevin Thompson didn’t finish first in a main that he started. John McCollum Sr. won last week’s 15-lap main while his son, John, took second.
Thompson, who’s won six out of seven races, didn’t finish the last race and will look to bounce back in the MST main.
The Toyota Sedans is always a competitive class with Jarred Tickel claiming his third main of the season. He’ll get plenty of push on the track from his dad Bud, who’s won two races, and Del McIntosh, who’s placed second twice in the past two races after winning the main on May 26.
The racing fun begins at 6 p.m.
