MADERA, California — It was a very special night for Hobby Stocks rookie driver Ryan Hart. Not only did he earn his first win of the season on Saturday, July 7, 2012 on Pacific Mobile Night at the Madera Speedway">Madera Speedway, he also came through with his mom’s birthday wish of bringing home the first place trophy.
After having the lead late in his previous two races only to fall short, Hart wouldn’t give it up this time around with that extra motivation as he took the 25-lap main in the “Fastest 1/3 Mile in the West”.
Hart battled back from an early tangle up with Howard Holden as he passed Frank Mazzei on Lap 17 to get into the lead. From that point on, Hart was determined to keep his promise of getting his mom, Barbara Hart, the present she asked for.
In the final five laps, Hart held off the six-time main winner and top qualifier Mazzei to taste victory for the first time this season and personally hand his mother the trophy. While Mazzei finished second, Cooper took third.
Other main winner’s on the night include Tony Schmitz (LunkerDaddy Late Models); Bud Tickel (Toyota Sedans); John McCollum Jr. (MSTs); and Nastasia Dodd (4-Bangers).
The Madera Speedway’s racing action continues with the "Gerhardt Classic" on Saturday, July 14, 2012 in Round 4 of the Super Saturday presented by Coors Light featuring the 410/360 Super Modifieds, USAC Sprint Cars, BCRA/USAC Midgets, NCMA Sprint Cars, Sports Mods, BCRA Vintage Sprints and Midgets.
