MONROE, Washington — On Saturday night July 14 at Evergreen Speedway the Annual NAPA Auto Parts night produced a first with a husband and wife both winning their respective feature events. Naima Lang won the Rodland Toyota 100 for the NASCAR Whelen All American Series Super Late Models. Jill Lang won her first Les Schwab Tires NASCAR Street Stock feature this season. The winner of the Foster Press NASCAR Mini-Stock/Outlaw Compact feature was a first for Michael Fitz. Also the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West held their NAPA Auto Parts 150 presented by Gene Price Motorsports with Eric Holmes winning for the first time at Evergreen Speedway.
"Next up at Evergreen Speedway is the annual visit to the Super Speedway of the West by the world famous Formula Drift Tour. July 18 - 21 the fastest growing form of motorsports takes over with the nation’s top drifters making their only trip to the NW."
The Rodland Toyota 100 on the 5/8-mile oval winner Lang won his fifth feature this season. Lang took the lead on lap 52 when the leader of the first 51-laps Daniel Moore was forced to the infield with mechanical problems. Lang led the final 44 laps with only one scare that coming on a green-white-checker restart. The double file cone restart had Lang on the inside pole position with second place Kelly Mann also choosing the inside. Third pace Tyler Tanner moved to the outside front row starting position. It was a drag race to turn one by all three with Lang and Tanner side by side. Lang survived the scare to keep his point lead for the 2012 championship. Mann finished second after a side by side battle with Tanner who finished third a career best at Evergreen Speedway .
A green-white-checker also decided the outcome of the Street Stock 30 on the 5/8-mile oval. On the late race restart Lang had the inside position on the pole and was able to hold back Joe Kneeland who finished second and Darrel Lutovsky who finished a close third. Lang had taken almost a full two years off from racing returning for the Summer Showdown two weeks ago. In that race she finished third.
Mini-Stock feature winner Fritz held back point leader and four time winner this season Jon Roberts for the second half of the 30-lap feature on the 5/8-mile oval. Roberts tried many times to go around Fritz but each attempt was thwarted. Roberts finished second with Andrew Schukar finishing third.
