GREAT TURNOUT AT SKAGIT’S 360 NATIONALS
The annual Bob’s Burger & Grill 360 Nationals was held this past weekend at Skagit Speedway, an ASA Member Track in Algers, WA. A total of 48 cars, representing seven states and two Canadian provinces were on hand for the event. Shane Stewart won on Friday night while Travis Jacobson won the big event on Saturday night, his third 360 Nationals in a row.
ASA PRO TRUCKS SERIES DRIVERS DONATE THEIR WINNINGS
A bulk of the ASA Pro Trucks Series purse from their last event at Magic Valley Speedway was donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Driver Johnny Pierre offered to donate 100% of his winnings from that night to the hospital and challenged the other drivers to donate at least 50%. Half of the drivers did donate their 50% while the remaining drivers donated 100%. The total donated was $1,256.25.
GATLIN LOOKS TO CONTINUE HIS STREAK THIS SATURDAY NIGHT
Lance Gatlin hopes to continue his winning streak this Saturday night at Lonesome Pine Raceway, an ASA Member Track in Coeburn, VA. Gatlin will be looking for his tenth straight victory in the Limited Late Model division. He is in a tight battle with Shelby Stroebel, from Meridian Speedway in Meridian, ID, for the ASA Member Track National Championship title. LPR Promoter Harold Crook has a $450 bounty on Gatlin for this Saturday night.
MOTHER NATURE GOT THE WEEKEND OFF
The weather cooperated this past weekend with all ASA Member Track and Series events. None were rained out! There were six ASA sanctioned events on Friday night, 14 on Saturday and one on Sunday.
ASA MIDWEST TOUR…THREE STATES IN THREE WEEKS COMING UP
The ASA Midwest Tour is getting ready for a three-week stretch of three events in three different states. This Sunday, August 5, they will be at Madison International Speedway in Oregon, WI. The following Saturday, August 11, they will be at Norway Speedway, an ASA Member Track in Norway, MI. Then follow that with a Saturday night event on August 18 at Elko Speedway in Elko, MN. So far in six events, they have had six different winners this season.
