PORTLAND, Oregon — After bad luck striking in and out this year, one of the greatest performances this year for 17 year old Keegan Walmer claimed his best finish for 2012 on Saturday at All American Speedway.

"Ron Sutton's Winner's Circle is an established talent scout and development program, providing long term, comprehensive racing and career development for up and coming drivers focused on professional Stock Car careers. "

The four year member of the Ron Sutton's Winner's Circle team drove his Reser's Fine Foods Modified to a second place finish in the NASCAR Whelen All American Modified division collecting his first top three finish this year.

Walmer opened up the race day by posting good times in practice and qualifying seventh fastest with a time of 14.438 seconds around the speedway. With a good qualifying time, Walmer was on pole after an invert of seven was spun. Keegan jumped out to a good lead on the start in turn two and began to pull away from the field. A yellow thrown on lap two brought Keegan back together with the field. On the restart Jason Bamberg on the outside raced the leader Walmer hard in to turn one, as the two battled side by side for the top spot, Bamberg prevailed and later would go onto the win.

This did not discourage Keegan one bit as he ran in second keeping up with the leader. Walmer fell back to third early on but on lap 32 he made an inside pass for second. At the time, the leader was about four car lengths in front of Keegan and he began to close in the gap in the closing laps. However, Walmer ran out of laps to claim the top spot but finished a solid second place knocking on the door for the lead.

"It was a great night tonight for the number 18 Reser fine foods machine. Our hard work all week paid off and the finished showed it! We ended up second in the main, our best finish yet in the NASCAR Whelen Modified! Great Job to Jason Bamberg for taking the win we gave him a great run," stated Keegan Walmer.

Keegan's next race is scheduled for September 1st at Stockton 99 Speedway for Tri Holiday Classic Finale.
