NASCAR Whelen All American Series will make its return to All American Speedway for its next championship point’s race this Saturday August 18th. On tap will be the return of the Pro 4 Modifieds, NASCAR Modifieds and Bombers. As the weather stays hot with Saturday expecting mid 90 degree temperatures the points chase will also continue to heat up providing lots of racing action. Don't forget the speedway now offers FREE PARKING for all AAS NASCAR weekly Championship races excluding the NASCAR K&N race in October. Don't forget the Speedway's new promotion for the rest of the 2012 Whelen Racing Season, will be offering Triple Digit Saturday's, where if the temperature reaches 100 or more, all admission prices will be half off.
Mickey Owens continues to lead the way in Street Stock points with 395. Mickey's brother Kevin Owens who picked up a win again last weekend for two weeks in a row is right there in tow only 16 points behind his brother. Matt Camp is in third and looks to continue posting solid finishes. Richard Poppert Jr. sits in fourth and Byron Gonzales is fifth.
Scott Winters sitting on the top spot in Modifieds with 291 points missed the last race and Rich Lindgren in second with 264 points. Gary Glen has returned to the third position taking it away from Jason Philpot who now sits in fourth and Jason Bamberg to round out the top five.
Two time track champion Matt Scott currently reigns in the Late Model division with 198 points and if the last few races are in his favor he will collect his third championship. Chris Scribner sits in second with only 21 points behind the leader. However Ron Chunn in third is just 19 points behind second. Chris Lambert sits fourth and Travis Milburn fifth.
In the Bomber division David Thompson leads the way in points with a total of 461 and sits comfortably with a 46 point lead over second place Erick Ray as he is on defensive mode as third place driver Richard Perez is only 24 points away. Last year's track champion Chris Paulson sits in fourth and Eric Bocksberger in fifth.
The NASCAR Late Models and Street Stocks are off for this weekend and will return on August25th.
