This Saturday, September 8th, the West Coast Shootout Late Model Series will make a stop at Petaluma Speedway for the M. Maselli and Sons Classic. The event will pay $2,000 to win and $400 to start. Joining the West Coast Shootout will be 360 Sprints, Spec Sprints and Dwarf Cars.
Defending series champion and current points’ leader Clay Daly goes in as the defending Maselli and Sons Classic Champion as he held off local track champion Jeff Decker for his first West Coast Shootout victory. Daly holds a 47 point lead over Arroyo Grande’s Tony Toste with teammate Jason Papich, Rob Sanders and Steve Drake completing the top five.
Papich looks to carry momentum going into the weekend as he won his first Super Late Model main event this past Sunday during the Danny and Sandie Simkins Memorial at Santa Maria Speedway. Papich took the point early on from Drake and went uncontested through lapped traffic in the green-white-checkered event for his first win.
