The answer to the question of who is getting the Santa Maria Speedway has been released to the public as Ruben and Katy Munoz signed a four year contract as the new promoters on October 10th. Combined they have over thirty years of experience in various forms of the racing industry. The past four years Ruben has served as an official at the track with Katy working the back gate and score booth the past three.
“We plan on focusing more on the local racer,” stated Ruben. “More mini stock, hobby stock and modified races though there will be no drastic changes to previous season schedules. All rules packages will also remain the same.”
The duo plan on becoming more involved in the community to bring awareness to the track by attending various events up and down the Central Coast. Dave Castaneda will be returning as the head of Marketing to help organize such events. They will also be working closely with the Lompoc Valley Motorsports Park.
Along with Dave, Ruben and Katy would like to thank the following for supporting their efforts in becoming the 2013 Promoters: Papich Construction, Toste Construction, Drake Farms, Pete Van Iderstine, Indiana Truck and Salvage, Condon Motorsports, Leading Edge, Five Star Grafix, Finish Line Promotions, Meineke Car Care and Sign Craft.
