Performance Motorsports announced today that it has acquired Position-One Motorsports. The new entity will be known as Performance P-1 Motorsports.(PP1M)
Position-One Motorsports currently races cars in the NASCAR Whelen Late Model Series, the SRL S-2 Late Model Series and the NASCAR Super Late Model Series.
Performance Motorsports competes in the NASCAR K & N West Pro Series.
The acquisition of the storied Position-One Motorsports will add a new dimension to Performance Motorsports operations. The revised team will compete as a driver development team offering everything from a SRL S-2 entry level ride all the way up to the NASCAR K & N Pro Series.
“I’m happy to do this deal with Performance Motorsports as they will keep the level of talent and equipment on par with what we have been doing for the past few years” said Luis Martinez. “We have partnered up with Joe Nava and all the guys over at Performance on a number of race seasons and events so I know they have what it takes to keep the cars competitive”
The first race for PP1M will be this weekend at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Bullring, October 19-20 2012.
Drivers for this event will be Luis Martinez Jr in the # 03 King Taco, Lucas Oil, Eibach Springs Chevrolet and Juan Garcia in the # 30 King Taco PP1M Chevrolet.
