Decision Time is Approaching for More Than Just a New President as the ASA Truck Series Nears the Season End

Lake Havasu City, Arizona – – Going out to vote in a few weeks should be on everyone’s mind, but as we will decide a new president soon most of the ASA Truck Series drivers are awaiting a new champion for 2012. This season has been full of first-time winners, track records and full field inverts. Heading to the Lucas Oil I-10 Speedway this weekend will continue these exciting races and every position matters as a championship is about to be finalized. Jeremiah Wagner, the #77 from Las Vegas, NV is the current point leader and has many of those track records this year. Jeremiah is a talented driver who will have to show patience to maintain his lead at a fast paced race for the “VP Fuels 75” this weekend. Wagner will need to hope that the momentum that #33 Jeff Bischofberger has right now doesn’t launch him into the lead. Bischofberger brought home his first victory ever in the ASA Truck Series and in racing in general! The #33 Chevy Colorado set up by Dallas Leininger at BP Racing was on a rail with Jeff demonstrating the smoothest driving we’ve seen in a long time at the big 2.5 mile track at Firebird International Raceway earlier this month.

Bischofberger said “a lot of hard work finally paid off” as they had practiced the week before, had mechanical trouble, worked the kinks out and came back for an impressive first time victory. He was quick to thank those that helped him like “Dallas, my brother Allen, my crew, Pagano’s team, Wet Sounds Marine Audio, Stello CNC Machining, and of course my Pops, Mom and Wife”. Another goal of Bischofberger’s is to win “Rookie-of-the-Year”, but he needs to realize that Cole Loftsgard #24 sits in second in overall points and leads the Rookie race. Jeff did say “I wish Cole wouldn’t have broken in the Firebird race because he races clean”, but may have a bit of relief for the points he gained on his competitor.

The Firebird course offered turn after turn of challenges for the ASA Truck Series drivers who will have to tighten their belts and get ready for a short, fast track in Blythe, CA. The points are tight for all those in the top ten and every position will matter in the final two races. Join us for the “VP Fuels 75” at the Lucas Oil I-10 Speedway for a great evening of racing.
