The 21st and 22nd starting positions are available to the highest 30 car owners in the current 2001 Featherlite Southwest Series point standings who have not qualified for one of the original 18 starting positions. Provisional starting positions (23rd and 24th) will be filled by the top two (2) highest finishing drivers in the Qualifying race electing to transfer.

FEATHERLITE SOUTHWEST SERIES NOTES:
- Craig Raudman clichéd his first FSWS title by finishing 30th in the last
FSWS event at Phoenix last week.
- Craig Raudman of Bakersfield, Calif. has set the record for consecutive
Bud Pole awards at five and is fast approaching Lance Hooper's 1995 mark of
nine Bud Poles in a season. Raudman has eight Bud Pole Awards this season
after the last event a Mesa Marin Raceway.
- Eddy McKean of Jerome, Idaho was the FSWS Rookie-of-the-Race at Phoenix.
McKean finished 2nd to record his fourth top five finish of the season.
Meanwhile, Scott Brandt only leads Burney Lamar by only one point in the
Rookie-of-the-Year race going into the TRP event.
- Since 1994, there have been 15 different winners in 18 events at TRP.
- Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company has posted award tires for all events in 2001, which include 32 tires to be distributed to eligible Featherlite Southwest Series, NASCAR Touring car owners per event.
May 6, 2000 RACE REVIEW: M.K. Kanke won the Bud Pole Award with a time of 14.985 seconds and started the event from the sixth position due to the invert. Auggie Vidovich Jr. got the jump on the field and led lap one. Vidovich would go on to lead every lap of the 125-lap contest.
