Tucson, Ariz. -- Joe Benedetti from Auburn, Wash. headed south and made it two-for-two for the Raybestos Brakes Northwest Series, NASCAR Touring as he collected his first win in Featherlite Southwest Series, NASCAR Touring competition by dominating the Ray Judy "150" at Tucson Raceway Park Saturday afternoon. Benedetti qualified ninth in his Race Cals Chevrolet and allowed the race to come to him and take the lead on lap 49 and lead the final 104 circuits in route to a $5,375 payday. Zach Neissner of Royal City, Wash. won his first career Bud Pole with a time of 15.342/87/994 mph and edged out series 8-time Bud Pole winner Craig Raudman.

Burney Lamar of West Sacramento, Calif. won the FSWS Rookie-of-the-Year battle by virtue of his eighth place finish, although it was Eddy McKean of Jerome, Idaho who won Rookie-of-the-Race honors with a third place finish. Sean Monroe and Jason Allen transferred from the non-qualifiers race to fill out the 24-car field. Allen came from the rear to finish with his first career top ten. Allen will contest for FSWS ROTY honors in 2002. Twenty-two of the 24 starters were running at the finish.####
