Greg Fowler, NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series Driver #71 is ready for the 2002 season. Greg will start off his season at Phoenix International Raceway, also known as "The Desert Jewel" February 1 - 2, 2002. During the off season Greg Fowler Racing made several changes to prepare for the 2002 season, starting with new car owner Michelle Fowler. Greg Fowler Racing is now a husband and wife owner/driver team which is sure to be a winning combination.
Other preparations made by Greg Fowler Racing for the 2002 season was hiring Matt Vaughn (RMV Motorsports Marketing) as Marketing Director. Fowler said, "We look forward to a lasting relationship with Matt to continue to run the Southwest Tour." In addition, this team has brought on new Crew Chief, Ed O'Hayre, who comes to the team from Brendan Gaughn's 2 time Winston West Championship Team. One thing that hasn't changed is advertising partner Plum Creek Mortgage who has signed on board for the 2002 season with Greg Fowler Racing.
Fowler is excited about his chances at PIR in February. Coming off a wreck in turn 3 at PIR last year they have spent the off season fixing their car and preparing for the start of the 2002 season at the Napa Auto Parts NASCAR Winter Heat, February 1 – 2, 2002 at PIR. Fowler said, "We are looking to have a good qualifying run to position us up front, start the race, keep the "nose on," and stay out of trouble, which should give us a top ten finish."
Fowler has great optimism going into the 2002 season he feels his chances are good and with all the changes during the off season, he feels they have put together a top five team!
