Veteran racer Gene Woods will bring Dodge into the NASCAR Winston West Series when he debuts his new Dodge Intrepid at the season opener in Phoenix.
Sponsored by CyberCredit, an Internet credit system (www.CNWB.com) and some help from Chrysler, the new car, built in Woods' race shop in Ontario, will be the sole Dodge in the Winston West series. Woods' and crew had hoped to debut the car in the Winston West season finale at Irwindale last year but last minute problems forced the team to pull out of the event. But everything is now back on track and the team plans to debut the new #7 CyberCredit Dodge at the Phoenix race.
Woods, whose racing resume includes speedway motorcycles, sprint cars and Super Trucks, plans to run the entire 2002 season and hopes to challenge for the series'
rookie-of-the-year title.![]()
