LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- Central California driver Cindy Clark makes her first appearance at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the No. 02 Universal Automotive Machine/American Racing Supply Chevrolet Monte Carlo this Saturday, March 16 at 6:30 pm.
Clark, whose crew chief is NASCAR Winston West Series driver L.J. Pryor, is a Rookie-of-the-Year contender.
"I am excited about driving a Universal Machine-powered Late Model," said Clark. "I'm looking forward to competing at the Bullring with over 40 other cars."
Universal Automotive Racing will field four cars at the Bullring this season.
In addition to Clark, drivers Steve Rzesnowiecky and Mike Ayers also will compete in Late Models sponsored by Universal Automotive Machine/American Racing Supply.
The Rzesnowieckys' son, Stevie "Bear" Rzesnowiecky, a go-kart ace and championship contender, will again compete in the Bandolero division.
Clark began racing in 1994 at Watsonville (Calif.) Speedway, capturing the Rookie of the Year title. After mastering the dirt track at Watsonville Speedway with multiple wins, Clark moved to pavement racing in 1999. Demonstrating her versatility, Clark won four of the 16 main events she entered that year at Madera (Calif.) Speedway.
Clark worked in promotions at Watsonville Speedway for several years before becoming a full time marketing and PR person in the NASCAR Winston West Series in 2001. Clark is now ready to get back behind the wheel. Carrying over from her California days as co-host of the PrepTalk USA radio show, Clark now co-hosts on T-man's "A Day at The Races" radio show, airing Thursdays at 7 p.m. on KLAV-AM 1230 in Las Vegas, NV.
