Las Vegas…Hoping for a big smile from Lady Luck, Jason Allen and Wolfe Motorsports are set for a strong night of racing as they tackle Round 3 of the NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series, Saturday, April 6 at Mesa Marin Speedway in Bakersfield, Calif.

"Mesa Marin is a fast, tough track," says Allen , who raced the well-known Bakersfield Speedway once, two years ago. "We did pretty well for our first time out," he continues. "There were over 50 cars trying to qualify, twelve from Las Vegas alone. We grabbed the 14th place spot on the grid and finished 10th. Plus, we were the only car from Las Vegas to get in the field. This time, we want to take at least a top 10 slot on the Startline and finish in the top 5. Once again, qualifying is going to be all important. There are 40-some cars entered, so we need to be on our toes."

Currently ranked 15th in the NASCAR Southwest Series point battle, Allen is filled with obvious determination. "We kinda' got off to a slow start," he explains. However, we've only run two races out of 14 and with a couple of good finishes, we will be right up in the thick of things. Our No. 74 Pontiac Grand Prix is right there and we know we can run up front. We just need one of those sweet smiles from Lady Luck."

Allen, the reigning NASCAR Late Model Champion is well versed in precisely what is required to do well at Mesa Marin. "The real tricks at this track," explains Allen, "are to be patient, have a good car set-up and plan your passes ahead of time. If you set yourself up right, then you can pick off your competitors one by one."

And there is no doubt that this popular Las Vegas resident has the means to do precisely what he plans. Aptly nicknamed the "Dogger" for his ability to hound his opponents until they make a mistake, Jason Allen has definitely carved a name for himself in stock car racing in a very short time.

"We're good to go," sums up Allen. "And I'm looking forward to doing well. People often say that the third time is the charm and hopefully that will be true for us this weekend."
