2001 REVIEW: Last year's caution-filled event, which marked the first visit by the series to The Bullring, featured an early battle between two rookies. Although Mark Reed won the Bud Pole Award, it was Ross Thompson who led the early laps of competition. Veteran Joe Bean swapped the front spot with the two rookies, before giving way to Steve Portenga. Reed took over and overcame challenges from Sean Woodside, Kevin Richards and Austin Cameron to dominate the late stages of the event and clinch his first series victory.
