Kristi Schmitt raced at her home track this last weekend. She had a finish of fourth place in the Main Event at Shasta Speedway in Anderson, California.
Schmitt qualified in fifth with a 15.084. Scotty Smith captured the fast time. Schmitt was in the second Bud Shoot Out late model race. She led the race until the last lap, Schmitt got a little loose in turns three and four and Terry Smith got underneath her it was a photo finish. Schmitt not even a nose behind Terry Smith.
Schmitt started the Bud Shoot Out Main event on the second row on the inside. On the start Schmitt moved her way to second. Then on lap 19 Scotty Smith got under the back of Schmitt Schmitt and she got a little high in the corner, Schmitt spun.
Starting at the back of the field Schmitt moved herself up to fifth. She stayed in position right behind Terry Smith, Troy McKenna, Randy Stutesman, and Scotty Smith. Schmitt passed Terry Smith with 10 laps to go.
On lap 49 coming around to take the checkered flag, Randy Stutesman and Troy McKenna got in a little biffle and Randy Stutesman spun. Schmitt went by the wreck and finished in a nice fourth.
