Fountain, CO – May 9, 2002 – The preliminary entry list has been released for the running of the May 19 NASCAR Feathelite SW Tour race at Pikes Peak International Raceway. And what a list it is.
So far 43 drivers are expected to test the waters at PPIR, many of which are from Colorado and can be seen regularly at Colorado National Speedway. The list includes:
Rick Carelli (1998 RE/MAX Challenge Series winner)- Roger Avants (5th 2001-7th 2000)- Bruce Yackey (4th 2000)- Ray Daniels (12th 2000)- David Gamel (11th 2000)- Scotty Backman (6th 2000)- Danny Mientka- Bill Yalotz Jr.- Kevin Clark- Mike Pratt-
Last year’s Rookie of the Year and current points leader Burney Lamar will also be at PPIR as he tries to extend his lead over Sean Woodside. Lamar finished 10th in 2001.
Lamar along with Rick Carelli, Brandon Whitt, Eddie McKean and Doug McCoun will be among the tour drivers signing autographs at the NASCAR Fan Festival presented by Budweiser in downtown Colorado Springs on May 17.
