Jason Leffler left no doubt about who had the fastest truck as he won the Bud Pole for Sunday's NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Rocky Mountain 200 by Dodge at Pikes Peak International Raceway. Leffler was nearly three-tenths of a second quicker than Ultra Motorsports teammate Ted Musgrave on Friday as he qualified his Team ASE Racing/Carquest Dodge at a non-record speed of 132.460 mph. The pole was Leffler's second of the year and marked the third time the Leffler-Musgrave duo has occupied the front row in 2002's five races. The lineup duplicated the pair's performance at Darlington Raceway in March, a race that Musgrave won. Musgrave's identical Mopar Performance Ram turned in a speed of 131.047 - the last of 38 trucks to post qualifying times on a cool, overcast afternoon. Mike Bliss qualified third in the IWX Motor Freight/Knights Inn Chevrolet at 130.900, followed by Gateway winner Terry Cook at 130.876 in the Power Stroke Diesel Ford. Dennis Setzer, the series winner at Martinsville Speedway, grabbed the No. 5 spot in the ACXIOM/Computer Associates Chevrolet with a speed of 130.563. NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series point leader David Starr qualified sixth in the Spears Motorsports Chevrolet, followed by Travis Kvapil, Rick Crawford, Raybestos Rookie Bill Lester and Robert Pressley. Ricky Sanders and Bob Coffey Jr. failed to qualify for the 36-truck lineup Sunday's race, televised live by ESPN2 and broadcast by MRN radio, begins at 4 p.m. EDT.
