This Saturday, May 18th, at South Sound Speedway the Late Model Super Stocks and Top Notch Trailer Street Stocks each had a new winner in their main events. The FSCRA (Foreign Stock Car Racing Association) and the Dwarfs made a great showing their second time back.

The Lumbermans car, drove by Wes Rhodes, was the fastest qualifier in the Late Model Super Stocks with a 14.64. Dan Obrist drove the Womack Autobody Monte Carlo to a quick dash win. In the first main event, Eric Tibbitts, sponsored by BMS Construction, took a very quick lead. On lap 10, the first caution was thrown for, the Dilly Solomon Logging sponsored, Marc Beebe and for the Snap-On Tools cars of Jimmy McVey who was leaking fluid. On lap 20, another caution was thrown for fluid and Tim Gosch left the raceway for the pits and would not be seen for the remainder of the race. Eric Tibbitts kept the lead he had from the start until lap 29 when Roger Drake's car, sponsored by Jay's Auto of Everett, passed him. On lap 30, yet another caution was thrown when Keith Armstrong, Columbia Fords' Tracy Powell, and the Trans Tech Electric Inc car of Angela Cope got together. Cope and Powell left the track but Armstrong remained. Drake battled to keep the lead from Dan Obrist until on lap 47 when he couldn't hold it anymore. Obrist won with Wes Rhodes in second who took the spot from Drake on the last lap. Drake was third with Nick Behn in fourth and Tibbitts rounding out the top five.

Four cars didn't make it to the second main event in the Late Model Super Stocks, Tim Gosch, Alpine Environmentals' Wade Bland, Tracy Powell and the Les Schwab sponsored car of Rich Ladd. Eric Tibbitts got out to the quick lead again in this race. The first caution came on lap 23 when Drake's Pizza and Subs driver, Roger Drake and Dan Obrist got together. The rest and final caution of the race was on lap 34 for Jimmy McVey who spun and left the track with mechanical problems, after moving up10 spots. Tibbitts was still leading at this point and it looked like a clear shot for him to win. The Timber Wolf sponsored driver, Nick Behn came on fierce and strong at the end. Behn passed Tibbitts with only three laps to go. Tibbitts stayed close behind to get his spot back but it was too late. Behn was the victor followed by Tibbitts. Third went to Ray Wallace, sponsored by Canyon Auto Paint, with Wes Rhodes and Angela Cope in tow.

JJ Hamilton in his Dynamic Collections car qualified the fastest in the Top Notch Trailer Street Stocks with an astounding 15.92. only .03 second away from the record set by the Matheson Plumbing Co, Inc. ride of Chad Hinkle who set it only last week. Hinkle won the trophy dash. Bill Manney, sponsored by Tanglewilde Lumber, had a great showing when he won the A-heat and main event. Bobby Micielli won the B-heat. Twelve cars started the main event where Micielli got out to the lad but only for two laps before Manney passed him. The first of two yellows was thrown when, on lap four, Dennis Faulkner in his Martin Sand and Gravel Dodge Dart blew his motor. Things were cleaned up quickly and the racing action got back underway with Manney leading, Micielli in second and the NWRacingNews.com car of Joe Swanson was running in third. The field stayed tight. By lap 22 the second caution was flown and Manney was still in the lead but this time Chad Hinkle and JJ Hamilton were right on him. Manney kept the lead and won with Hinkle, Hamilton, and Swanson in tow. Micielli was fifth followed by Uhlmann Motors' Jim Jussila and the Hangar Restaurant and Lounge driver Brad Borton.

Scott Fardig took the fastest qualifying position in the Washington Dwarfs with a 15.56 and set a new track record. Fred Hall won the trophy dash with Scott Fardig in second. Scott Fardig collected the heat win. In the main event, Fred Hall took the lead quickly. Marvin Fardig blew his car up during the main event on lap eleven. The caution allowed Scott Fardig to get around Hall but on lap 15, the two got together and also collected Tom Snider. This left the front spot open to Kurt Wilson to win in his back up car after crashing during hot laps. Second place went to Scott Fardig with Jim Bentley and Hall in tow.

Terry Rinnick swept the FSCRA class on Saturday. Mike Courage qualified fastest with a 15.55 and broke the track record previously held by Earl Williamson. Rinnick won the dash and A heat race. The B heat race went to John Grosvenor. Rinnick got out to the lead right away and never looked back in the main event. The first and only yellow came on lap 18 when Grosvenor spun. Rinnick came across the winner with Williamson right on his bumper. Third was Jim McKay with Scott Tiplady and Mike Courage rounding out the top five.
