Not only are the temperatures rising in the tri-state area, but also the action at Mohave Valley Raceway and Saturday night wasn’t any different. After a recent string of bad luck, Bryan Turner returned to the victory circle in the Street Stocks. Jeff Schafer claimed the Dwarf Car main over Jesse Chinn. Las Vegas driver Dan Fitzgerald won his 2nd Mohave Valley Raceway main event in the IMCA Modifieds. In the Factory Stocks, it was Deron Kramer with the win.

There were 9 Street Stocks, but Mark Hodges elected to load up and leave before the heat race. Tim Gagnon and Bryan Turner both claimed the heat races. The main event started off in a strange way with Steve Taylor pushing Errol Sharron around the track so Sharron would get points, but Sharron’s car wasn’t running since he had a blown engine so, he was blackflagged and not scored. Turner jumped into the lead and claimed the win over Frank Bridwell and Steve Taylor. Taylor was driving his Studebaker in the heat race, but when that engine blew he jumped in the 09 car that Sharron drove in the heat race. Robert Jantz finished fourth ahead of and Dan Baysinger.

The Dwarf Cars had a 14 car field with James Lasiter Jr a scratch to leave a 13 car main. Top drivers Ryan Cotrell and Robert Ewing both were in Las Vegas at their prom. Don Miller made his Mohave Valley Raceway return with a heat 1 win and Jesse Chinn took heat 2. Jeff Shafer claimed the main event win over Chinn, Jay Ewing, Nick Bruce, and Brad Fuchs.

The IMCA Modifieds had a 22 car field with some new Las Vegas cars in attendance. After blowing a motor last race, Bill McIntosh took the numbers off Don Glovers modifieds, and put his number on with duct tape. John Wilson, Stacey Pike, and Paul Hurns were the heat race winners. The action-packed main event got off to a rough start when Jeff Sheppard caught fire in the turn 3 ditch, Sheppard escaped unhurt, but the car was done for the night. McIntosh was out for the night with problems in the Glover car, and also Darrel Zweifel pitted and didn’t return. Jason Pike was stuck in the ditch for a few laps with a blown transmission, and when a yellow was thrown for a spun Stacey Pike, Lyle Abrams clobbered S Pike, and J Pike was retrieved. Dan Fitzgerald and John Wilson battled for the win with Wes Richardson and Jason Lee from the black. Richardson impressive strong run from 18th to 3rd was ended with a blown motor. Troy Ferrari moved to fourth and Lee tried everything possible to get the win, but no luck. Fitzgerald took the win over Wilson, Lee, Ferrari, Jim Bonetti, and Paul Hurns. Steve Stringer, Joseph Cross, Chris Langham and Tim Flessatti ran in the top 10 as 15 cars finished the main.

The Factory Stocks had an 8 car field with Larry Runge and Deron Kramer winning the heat races. Deron Kramer took the win in the main event over Gene Chambers, Larry Runge, rookie Anthony Sturdivant, and Shane Clouse.
