FIELD: 42 cars possible. The fastest 28 cars through time trials with two provisional starting positions (29th & 30th) available to the top 30 drivers based on the current 2002 Featherlite Southwest Series drivers point standings, who have not qualified for one of the original 28 starting positions, provided eligible drivers attempt to qualify. Provisional positions 31st & 32nd will be available to the highest 30 car owners in the current 2002 Featherlite Southwest Series point standings who have not qualified for the event. Provisional position 33rd has been established for a driver in the RE/MAX Series top 30 2002 point standings who has not qualified. Provisional position 34th has been established for a driver in the Raybestos Brakes NW Series in the top 30 2002 point standings who has not qualified. Starting positions 35th thru 42nd will be filled by the top eight (8) highest finishing drivers from the Qualifying Race, electing to transfer.

FEATHERLITE SOUTHWEST SERIES NOTES:

· M.K. Kanke has five straight top-5 finishes going into the Snap-On Tools/Jelly Belly "200" including one victory at Cajon Speedway. Kanke has climbed to second in the point standings, just 15 markers out of the lead.

· This season there has been six different race winners and six different Bud Pole Award winners in the first six events.

· Bob Lyon, Aqua Dulce, Calif., is the iron man of the series with 241 appearances, and 185 consecutive starts.

· Doug McCoun has the longest active streak of consecutive seasons finishing in the top 10 in the final standings. McCoun has managed top 10 finishes eight straight years.

· The record for most different Bud Pole Award winners in a season is 13, set in 1997 and tied in 1998.

· 19-year old Rookie-of-the-Year candidate, Brandon Whitt, of El Cajon, Calif. maintains his lead in the FSWS Rookie-of-the-Year battle over Steve Belletto of Modesto, Calif. Whitt currently sits ninth in the overall 2002 standings. Whitt has one top-5 and one top-10 finish in six starts.

· Jim Inglebright looks to make it a three-peat as he goes for three victories in a row at the famed Sonoma road course. He'll have to contend with Winston Cup Regulars Kevin Harvick, Jeff Green, Robby Gordon, as well as road racing ace, Boris Said. The 1997 Featherlite Southwest Series champion, Bryan Germone, is also making his return to the series.

2001 RACE REVIEW: Steve Petty grabbed his second consecutive Bud Pole Award with a time of 1 min 16.792 and started first. Petty led the first 27 laps until two-time winner Jim Inglebright pressured his way by on lap 28. Mark Reed muscled the lead on lap 30 and led the next 31 circuits. Jim Inglebright then took the lead back and assumed control of the race on lap 62 and led the final two laps in route to his second consecutive victory
