PHOENIX, Ariz. -- Duane Drummond Team Manager for Adair Motorsports has announced the formation of a brand new NASCAR Winston West team with the intent to compete full-time in the NWWS schedule. They will begin competing June 29 at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Washington. The team will field a midnight blue Pontiac Grand Prix bearing their newly-assigned car #3.
Adair Motorsports has formed an alliance with Royal Bath and Body Products to further its marketing goals and enhance brand awareness within the NASCAR fan base. The company offers enterprenuers the chance to start their own distribution businesses and will utilize the awareness brought about by the sponsorship to build their sales volume.
Jeff Davis has been hired to pilot the cars. Jeff has run in two previous full-season campaigns in the series, finishing in the top 10 both years, with a best of 4th in 1994 in his rookie year. He also has five Winston Cup starts on his resume. More recently, Jeff has been driving in the Mechanix Wear SpeedTruck series where he finished 2nd in points last year.
Adair Motorsports owner, Christina Adair, is excited about this new venture and is very quickly assembling a team that will yield competitive results right out of the box. "We have begun acquiring all the necessary equipment this team needs to succeed and assembling the people to lead it to success. Our engines will equal the best around. Jeff's experience will surely move this team in the right direction. We all love racing and we want to see the results of our hard work rewarded with strong runs and good finishes."
Jeff is excited too. "I can't wait to get back to the tracks in the Winston West cars. There is nothing else like running these big cars on 3/8 mile and 1/2 mile tracks. And I love the superspeedways too. I got a chance to race at California Speedway last month in another car, and that is where I met Tina. I feel so fortunate to have been chosen to drive her cars."
"Many of my former team members are joining this new team, including my former crew chief Tim McMillin. I can honestly say that we should start out running very competitively. We shook the car down last week at El Cajon and everything went well." "Christina, or Tina as she is fondly known, was diagnosed seven months ago with lymphomia. Just last week she completed a six month battle of chemotherapy and we are all very happy to be able to call her a 'cancer survivor'."
The team is seeking to add major sponsorship in order to allow it to compete at the highest level in the series.
