Mike Bliss, nursing a five-point NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship lead, won the Bud Pole for Saturday's Federated Auto Parts 200 with a record lap of 157.322 mph over the 1.333-mile concrete-surfaced Nashville Superspeedway. Friday's pole was the second of 2002 by Bliss and his No. 16 IWX Motor Freight/Knights Inn Chevrolet and 16th all-time. Bliss last started first at Gateway International Raceway where he finished third on May 5. David Starr, No. 75 Spears Manufacturing Chevrolet, will start second - matching his best series start - with a speed of 156.033. Both broke Scott Riggs' year-old mark of 155.477. Ted Musgrfave, Robert Pressley and Travis Kvapil rounded out the top-five qualifiers, followed by Jason Leffler, Bobby Hamilton Jr., Rick Crawford, Terry Cook and Mike Wallace.
