Kevin Hamlin picked up fast time at Kalispell with a time of 12.75 setting a new track record. The competition in the Northwest Tour was as fierce as ever at Montana, and starting positions were lost and won in the blinking of an eye during Bud Pole qualifying.
The top-six qualifiers were inverted giving Gary Lewis the front starting position. Local favorite Ken Kaltschmidt will start 9th on the grid for tonight's event.
The No. 2 of Joe Benedetti was tapped and lost a tire during the trophy dash, bringing out a yellow. On the restart Hamlin was shoved to the wall, damaging the right side of his car. After the dash Troy Conrad was invited to the NASCAR trailer for a chat.
Meanwhile...back in the garage Hamlin's team is hard at work repairing the damage in preparation for the night's event.
