TOLEDO, Ohio -- Casey Smith qualified his "Tobacco Is Foul"/ Chevrolet Monte Carlo solidly in the field for the American Speed Association (ASA) "Metro Toledo-Northwest Ohio Ford Dealers 300" at Toledo Speedway and was running in the 14th spot at the halfway point when Greg Stewart turned him sideways and Peter Cozzolino was unable to avoid the "Tobacco Is Foul" car, putting the Austin teen into wall and out of the race. Joey Clanton won his eighth ASA race of the season.

"My car wasn't handling well and Stewart's seemed to be a handful, too," Smith said after the race. "I let him by and he pushed up in the corner, so I went under him and he came down. I went sideways, and Cozzolino couldn't help but hit me. It was just one of those racing incidents."

Smith was credited with 150 laps and 28th spot in the 33-car field. A large field of 39 cars had attempted to qualify, so six didn't make the field. Smith's 22nd spot in qualifying was his first time in his four ASA races to qualify outside the top 20, and meant some drivers with more points would start ahead of him; instead of starting 22nd, he started 26th.

The next ASA race for the "Tobacco Is Foul"/ car will be on August 24-25 on the three-quarter mile oval at Memphis Motorsports Park in Memphis, Tennessee.
