BRISTOL, TN (August 13, 2002) - Mac Tools announced today they will sponsor Tim Sauter and his No. 19 AP Performance Racing NASCAR Busch Series entry in the Food City 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway Friday, August 23. To highlight the one-race, primary sponsorship association, Sauter's No. 19 Chevrolet Monte Carlo will sport a special red rocket paint scheme, complete with reflective Mac Tool decals, when the event takes the green flag under the lights at the famed Bristol track.

"We are really excited to have Mac Tools on board with AP Performance Racing at Bristol," said Sauter. "This is a great opportunity for us to showcase Mac Tools. We use their equipment every day in the shop and we are really proud to have such a familiar and reputable sponsor on our car. We're looking forward to giving them a great run and at the same time proving what this AP Performance Racing team is worth to a sponsor."

Since 1938, Mac Tools has been a leader in the automotive tools and equipment industry. The Columbus, OH based company has a product line in excess of 8,000 items and distributes them throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Japan.

Sauter and his AP Performance Racing team have had an impressive first season on the Busch Series circuit despite not having a primary sponsor. The team has consistently run in the Top-15 and currently ranks 14th in the 2002 NBS championship standings. In the five events Sauter's team has featured 'one-race sponsorship deals' this season, the team has finished in the Top 10 four times.

"It's always a boost when a sponsor comes on board," said Sauter, the 1999 American Speed Association champion. "We should be very competitive in Bristol - I've run well there in the past finishing ninth in the 2001 spring race. Whenever we have a sponsor, the whole team just works that much harder to show them what they can expect from us."

Mac Tools is enjoying its 12th year of commitment to motorsports. Mac is the title sponsor for three National Hot Rod Association events including the Thunder Valley Nationals held at BMS, as well as major sponsorship associations with drag racing greats Kenny Bernstein, John Force, and Doug Kalitta. Sauter joins a short list of NASCAR elite including Robert Yates Racing and Ray Everham, who have signed major sponsorships with Mac Tools.

"Mac Tools is very excited to partner with an incredible person and with a great team," said Mac Tools Sports Marketing Manager, Roger Spee, of the new association with Sauter. "On the behalf of our Mac Tools Distributors we wish Tim and AP Performance best of luck and we will be there in force to root them on."

Sauter and his No. 19 Mac Tools Chevy will take the green flag in the Food City 250 Friday, August 23, at 8 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. The event will telecast live on TNT and broadcast worldwide on PRN Radio.
