
SAN BERNARDINO, California -- MSRA Pro 4's traveling division started out the lineup Saturday Night at the Orange Show Speedway. Steve Bernardi in the #85 set fast time while the trophy dash was won by the #24 of Ed Reed. Bernardi came back to finish first in the main, followed by the #24 of Reed, the #99 of Tim Carruthers, the #43 of Kenny Smith, and the #53 of Tim Clyde.
The Press Enterprise Stock Ponys were fast. Lindsey White in the #98 set fast time and placed second in the dash behind his son, Linny White in the #11. Dennis Silvers in the #01 won the first heat race, and Mark Shackleford in the #09 won the second heat. In the main event, it was Shackleford finishing first, followed by the #98 of White, the #11 of Linny White, the #38 of Dean Fruneaux, and the#19 of Gary Patton.
In Lightning Cup action, the fast time was set by the #58 of Zack Stout out of Vista. The #08 of Dean Caskey won Heat race #1 and Joe Anderson in the #51 Ford Taurus won Heat race #2. Anderson, out of Valencia went on to win the main event, followed by the #29 of Cummins, the #41 of Mike Brown, the #58 of Stout, and the #12 of Rick Walton out of La Crescenta.
Robin Hood Pizza Junior Lightning cups fast time went to the #93 Monte Carlo of Jeffrey Goddard out of Oxnard. The #43 of Cody Hart won the heat race, but Goddard was fast. The #93 of Goddard went on to win the main event, followed by Hart, the #28 of Nick Willhite out of Highland, and the #47 of Sean Evans.
Robin Hood Pizza Half Pints finished their evening with a great main. Brent Sheidelmantle in the #99 won, followed by the #11 of Conner Cantrell, the #29 of Devan Myrick, the #03 of Kristen Symonds out of Hemet, and the #42 of Taylor Hart.
Another traveling series visited the 1/4 mile oval this evening and what a show! The 100 lap Mechanix Wear Speed Truck Challenge main event. Twenty-one trucks started the main with very few cautions throughout. The #91 Ford Ranger of Lee Hatch out of Covina proved strong from the start. The truck handled tremendously well and was able to fight off a hard challenge by the #21 Chevy S-10 of John Burritt. Burritt fought an ill-handling truck for most of the race, but held on to finish second behind Hatch. Robert Sanders out of Phoenix in the #8 finished third, followed by the #99 of Randy Brown, and the #31 of Dan Digiacomo of Laguna Niguel.
Next week at the Orange Show Speedway, Late Models run twin 30-lap main events, Pacific West Technology Street Stocks, Bombers and Lady Bombers, Hornets and Junior Hornet action. Don't miss it!
