LVMS ANNOUNCES 2003 BULLRING SCHEDULE

LAS VEGAS – Las Vegas Motor Speedway officials announced the 2003 Bullring schedule Tuesday, and race fans will notice some significant differences from this year’s slate to The Orleans NASCAR Weekly Racing Series Presented by Dodge.

The current NASCAR Late Model division will change its name to Super Late Models, while the current NASCAR Outlaw Stock division will become the Late Models. This change will create unity among other tracks across the country. The International Motor Contest Association (I.M.C.A.) Modifieds will return to the weekly racing program at the Bullring and will compete 12 times during the regular season.

"Everyone is excited about the return of the IMCA Modifieds to the Bullring," said Andy Adamcik, manager of The Bullring. "We had a few Modified events in 2002, and the excitement of their races and the reaction of the fans made the decision to add more races an easy one."

The 2003 season will begin Feb. 27 with a special event for Super Late Models, Modifieds and Legends. The regular season will start April 26 and end September 13. The weekly racing series will race at the Bullring every weekend until July 3. Following a two-week summer break, racing will resume on July 26.

"Based on feedback from competitors and fans, we decided to give everyone a short break during the brutal July heat," said Chris Powell, LVMS president and general manager. "By running every weekend, except for the summer break, race fans will know that Saturday night means short-track racing in Las Vegas. We announced earlier a reduction in concession prices, and we are committed during the offseason to working hard at making even more improvements in the Bullring program for 2003."

In addition to the regular weekly racing events, The Bullring at Las Vegas Motorspeedway will host the Supermodified Racing League and United States Superspeedway Series on Oct. 4, the Silver State Fall Classic for Super Late Models on Nov. 4 and the USAC Sprints and Midgets on Nov. 29. The Mechanix Wear Speed Trucks will make seven appearances at the Bullring in 2003.
