"Working with Mark is great" said team manager Duane Drummond the whole team really rallied behind our crew chief Tim McMillin in Utah.Things are really starting to com together."Mark will be our driver for a long time to come" said Tina Adair team owner The car was good right out of the trailer at RMR. Mark and Tim worked well together the chemistry was there and the car got better and better as the morning went on. It seamed that we could do nothing wrong. Then it happened in the 2nd practice session we broke a rocker arm in the engine. Everyone was willing to help but had the wrong rocker it was not looking good. But at the last moment we found one put it in and got ready for qualifying.
Mark and the team qualified the car in the 6th position not a bad place to start our first race. We were looking forward to a good race hoping that we could at least maintaining the 6th place. When the green flag fell we began to go striate for the front it was like Mark never left. We went to 2nd spot and were just riding when the caution came out 4 tires and fuel came over the radio and here come the leaders down pit road.
This is where things started to get interesting. We were good to go the rest of the race and anticipating the green flag to fly once again. Green green green here we go again but the 16 car in front of us slowed and Mark was faced the with the decision to hit him or go low. We went low and got the black flag for passing on the left it was a stop and go Mark came in and answered the black flag. We got out just and I mean just in front of the leader. We thought that was it and we were going a lap down.Mark fought back hard an managed to pull away from the field and stay on the lead lap."this guy is the real deal"
We came back and managed a 5th we will take it a top 5 in out first race. The team is looking forward to our next race in the Winston West
Roseburg, Oreg.I know this team is hoping that the Winston West
will be strong next year.We can give them a run for there money.![]()
