LAKESIDE, California -- Bruce Bechtel of Corona, CA has entered his name along with 50 other potential starters for this Saturday's ARCA RE/MAX Series FOOD WORLD 300 race at the 2.66-mile paved tri-oval Talladega Superspeedway. Along with Bruce Bechtel is Rich Woodland of Temptleton, CA who are the only California drivers hoping to get starting spots in Saturday's race lineup.

Bruce Bechtel, a Corona electrical contractor, enters this race after competing in two NASCAR Busch Series races this year - California Speedway (Fontana, CA) and Pikes Peak International Raceway (Fountain, CO). Bruce will be driving the #10 2002 Ford prepared by Jimmy Means.

Riding along with Bruce Bechtel for the televised race is SPECTRUM COMMUNICATIONS, AMERICAN ELECTRIC SUPPLY, FORD OF UPLAND and PURE POWER LUBRICANTS, all of which have truly been supportive of Bruce's limited racing schedule this year.

Bruce Bechtel is not new to racing, the west coast NASCAR FEATHERLITE SOUTHWEST Tour driver has also logged more than 1500 laps and over 90 hours at California Speedway (Fontana, CA) as a driving instructor for a driving school over the past several years. He also currently holds the NASCAR FEATHERLITE SOUTHWEST Tour track record at CAJON SPEEDWAY (6/30/2000) previously held by Rick Carelli.

Bruce is excited about his entry in this weekend's race and hopes to complete all 113 laps and finish the race with a decent position in the highly competitive ARCA RE/MAX Series.

Speed Channel has announced they will air Saturday's 113 lap FOOD WORLD 300 race the same evening at 8-11 pm Eastern time and will also re-air on Sunday at 1 am Eastern time. Practice will be held on Thursday with a brief practice again on Friday and the 2-lap qualifying on Thursday.####
