GAUGHAN FAVORED TO WIN SUNDAY’S LAS VEGAS 350

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- Many of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series competitors have labeled Las Vegan Brendan Gaughan as the favorite in Sunday’s Las Vegas 350 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Now, the local bookmakers have made it official. Station Casinos has installed Gaughan as a 9-2 favorite to capture his third NCTS win of the season on Sunday.

"Brendan Gaughan has been the man on the 1.5-mile tracks with his wins at Texas," said Micah Roberts, director of the Palace Station Race and Sports Book. "Mike Bliss will be tough as well. There are a lot of good drivers and teams out there, so this should be a great race."

Defending race champion Ted Musgrave has 5-1 odds for victory, while Bliss, David Starr and Jason Leffler are 6-1.

"We welcome that pressure," Gaughan said. "We expect to win every time we go out. With the number of laps we have run here, we would like to think that we are the team to beat. Hopefully, since we are Orleans Racing we can take a lot of the Station’s money."

The Las Vegas 350 will start Sunday at 2 p.m. and be televised by ESPN. The racing action starts Saturday with the running of the Orleans 150 for the NASCAR Winston West Series.

Here are the odds:
Brendan Gaughan 9-2 Travis Kvapil 15-1
Ted Musgrave 5-1 Coy Gibbs 18-1
David Starr 6-1 Jon Wood 20-1
Jason Leffler 6-1 Matt Crafton 20-1
Mike Bliss 6-1 Lance Norick 20-1
Terry Cook 8-1 Carlos Contreras 30-1
Robert Pressley 8-1 Bill Lester 40-1
Dennis Setzer 10-1 Field 15-1
Rick Crawford 10-1
