KEVIN RICHARDS SURVIVES WRECK FILLED RACE TO WIN THE NAPA AUTO PARTS 100

Kevin Richards won Saturdays $158,858 NAPA Auto Parts 100 at Phoenix International Raceway. The race, the first of twelve events in the NASCAR Winston West Series quickly turned into a crash fest. A number of good cars were caught up in racing incidents, including Austin Cameron and pole-sitter, Steve Portenga. But Richards, who was on Hoosier tires, dodged the wrecks to take Monica (the No. 85 Monaco Chevrolet) to the first win of the new millenium in the series.

Crossing the line second was Bobby Dotter followed by Sammy Potashnick, Brendan Gaughan and Jason Small. With the second race in the series a week away, there will be a number of teams buring the midnight oil getting ready for the Mesa Marin.

Full Results: Kevin Richards, Bobby Dotter, Sammy Potashnick, Brendan Gaughan, Jason Small, Bill Sedgwick, Rick Bogart, John Borneman, Scott Gaylord, Mike Grady, Gary Smith, John Metcalf, Mike Hamby, Travis Powell, Jack Sellers, Joe Bean, Jeff Barrister, John Holcomb, Eric Norris, Steve Portenga, Brandon Ash, Austin Cameron, Jerry Cain, Eric Holmes, Mike Duncan, Gene Christensen, Jeff Jefferson, Scott Busby, Troy Cline.####
